Trend Alert: Lucite Furniture

This week at MKID we met with a great representative from William Switzer and Associates. We got to discussing how exciting it can be to take the traditional lines of a piece of furniture and refresh the look with an unexpected and intriguing material. What we seem to be seeing a lot of is the use of Lucite furniture. Seen above in this Cosmopolitan Occasional Table from the Circa Collection by Phyllis Morris.

Or this Chambord Queen Bed by Allan Knight. The traditional cabriole leg done in Lucite adds an awe-inspiring element to this already beautiful bed.

Greek Key Side Table by Allan Knight. We see this decorative element translate wonderfully into furniture and textiles in many ways. Here we see a more modern interpretation in this side table constructed entirely of acrylic.

This Starlet Banquette by Allan Knight is a great way add a touch of glamor to a space with it's crystal buttons in the tufts and cabriole Lucite front legs.
